The false title of this thread smears Donald Trump. In fact he did not send a cease and desist letter – published as a press release – to the “Club for Growth” because they disagreed with him.

He accuses them of defamation and extortion. I don’t know if he has a case, but to be sure the Club for Growth has been lying about his position on taxes.

Probably the press release is Trump’s way of publicizing his objection. It got a lot more news coverage than Club for Growth by itself ever got. I doubt if he would actually take them to court. As a public figure there is a very high standard to prove libel.
