Donald Trump on the second amendment
Trump has posted his second position paper. He only has two up but they both seem rather well thought out. I particularly like:
"The Second Amendment guarantees a fundamental right that belongs to all law-abiding Americans. The Constitution doesn’t create that right – it ensures that the government can’t take it away."
And:
"NATIONAL RIGHT TO CARRY. The right of self-defense doesn’t stop at the end of your driveway. That’s why I have a concealed carry permit and why tens of millions of Americans do too. That permit should be valid in all 50 states. A driver’s license works in every state, so it’s common sense that a concealed carry permit should work in every state. If we can do that for driving – which is a privilege, not a right – then surely we can do that for concealed carry, which is a right, not a privilege."

Of course the person elected will never get their plan through congress without significant changes and if they try run the oval office out of the facts they are carrying in their head they will do poorly.
They have to build competent staffs and work with them. They certainly have to understand the issues but they don't have to be the "Shell Answer Man". And they have to be able to negotiate.
It has been said that Trump knows how to pick good people. I suspect his staff is developing these papers and, if so, they seem to be doing a good job.
"Enforce The Laws On The Books"
No, repeal/invalidate all the gun laws starting with the National Firearms Act of 1934 because they violate the 2nd amendment and the Supreme Court ruled in favor of the 1934 act without any case presented by the defense. The ruling was and is a sham. All firearms acts thereafter are based upon that sham and should therefore be invalidated.
Close the BATF immediately and fire all the employees.
I do agree with most of the positions he takes, but I have no confidence in anything he says.
As I've said before I'm not a Trump supporter at this point, but the two position papers he's produced so far have been pretty good from my perspective.
I am not naive enough to think that I'm going to completely agree with anyone, including Rand Paul who I would clearly favor.
I think without Trump in the Race we'd get to choose between Bush and Clinton.
