Please ask WilliamRThomas to elaborate on his statement as to why an Objectivist would not be elected president. "Objectivism, alas, is not generally regarded as a respectable and reasonable system of ideas. So an Objectivist candidate must explain that he or she isn't a nut job." I agree with the statement, but would like to hear some additional elaboration.

Thomas further added the usual ineffective attacks by leftists and those on the religious right against Objectivism. Is there a better reason why outsiders might consider Objectivists "nut jobs"?
