Tomorrow marks fourteen years.

This is my yearly reprint of my piece for the tenth year.

--------------------

Ten Years Gone
for The Fallen and for America.

Some words for those who still recall
that sad September dawn
and mourn for all that we have lost,
today now ten years gone,

those who recall we held Our Flag,
and held each other's hand,
and wept, and steeled our resolve
to defend this Our Land.

We closed our ranks, we said our prayers,
we gently bowed each head,
and tried our best to honor our
Loved and Heroic Dead.

Ten Years of yesterdays have passed,
those memories don't fade,
but I no longer recognize
this country that we've made.

Some long see opportunity
in bleeding open scar,
crisis co-opting demagogues,
now look at where we are.

We're told the pictures of that day
are best hidden from view.
We're told that we are not to judge:
our faith is violent too.

We're told the attack was our fault.
We're told to “coexist”.
We're told Islam now is our friend,
our neighbors terrorist.

We're told we must submit to search
to be allowed to fly.
We're told Our Constitution's our
“A Catcher In The Rye”.

We're told one leader's war's a crime
for which he must be tried,
while the next wages the same war
and yet he's justified.

We're told Ground Zero's finally built
near Trophy Mosque acclaimed.
We're told Site 93 is not
a crescent Mecca aimed.

We're told Islam does not preach a
Destiny Manifest.
We're told theologies have rights
though we fought Shinto-blessed.

We're told Europe has riot “youth”,
who share no common coat.
We're told P.C. is really not
a noose around our throat.

We're told our markets are robust
despite recession twice,
then told the fix is for us all
to further sacrifice. . .

Utopia requires bones:
no one will ever see
our rich old foolish Marxist King's
“Open Society”.

His money speaks, our leaders bow
before his “Open” clout.
Surrendering behind our backs
our leaders sold us out.

They posture and betray our trust,
they fight for our defeat,
they played this game with Viet Nam,
now their game's near complete.

And so our enemy's within
yet some will not pay heed.
You doubt they hate America?
What more proof do you need?

I'll tell you what I learned that day
despite who'll whine or wince:
All I need know about Islam. . .
and about Marxists since.

So for the silent, ashen, shocked,
still reeling from the blow,
the Heroes, Towers, Country lost,
today ten years ago,

these words for all that we have lost
since that September dawn:
I've not forgot, nor will forget,
today now ten years gone.

Thank you for your tribute. Many Americans forgot this even happened, or pretend it didn't. Children born that day are now 14, and in the 9th.grade or so. I would be surprised if they hear anything about this in school. The "hate America Firesters' do not like this murderous attack because it puts America in a position of deserving sympathy, help and kindness. We will most likely stand alone , or supporting others as we always have. NEVER forget, Never!!

My kids range from 10 to 20. This will be my oldest sons first time to vote for president. He really only remembers Obama as president and has nothing to compare it too.

It is interesting to think about the things they have for reference and then it makes you adjust the way in which you teach about it.

Even those just entering the work force at 24 or so, just finished with college were 10 when this happened. At best they will some recall of an event there parents talked about a bunch but unless they lived by it and saw it first hand, it is not much more than that to them.

      Perspective is interesting.

Xenok Roy.... Good point. I was born in 1940, Pearl Harbor was in Dec. 1941, WWII was over by 1945, BUT,, all the way through my school years, we were versed and exposed to the whole show and never were told it was our fault. Movies were made and stars were born from them Most of all, we won..decisivelyThose days were different and the kids today are not of the culture we were. Wars are still wars and terrible but our leadership and purpose was so outstanding that there is no comparison today. We have had to spend 14 years to get 2 men who we considered somewhat quilty, Saddam And Osama. The rest has been an inflamed mess. with no results, leaders fighting with one hand tied and an enemy who doesn't fight "fair"....he is determined to win. Eisenhower, Patton, Macarthur, Bradley, Nimitz,King, Halsey would disown us.

Has anyone else ever questioned any of this? The way the towers fell and why? I have.

Read the Popular Mechanics technical analysis. They did a very professional, thoughtful evaluation, with an expert in structural "implosion" as their adviser, and concluded that the heat from the burning aviation fuel resulted in the steel beams softening, leading to the towers collapsing. The implosion expert noted that there were no audible sounds of detonation of the size necessary to cause structural collapse when the towers fell, which was the "telltale" evidence for him to eliminate carefully placed explosives.

Ironic, that the Democrats chose the anniversary of the terrorist act to commit treason, denying the will of 70% of the American people, favoring party loyalty over loyalty to the country in supporting an illegal act giving Iran license to develop nuclear weapons. I hope everyone will remember this obscenity and help to throw them all out in the next election.

Don't forget the Republican "leadership" who, in accordance with the wishes of K St., the Donor Class and the fear of their own shadows, stood by, bowed their heads and did nothing.

bsmith... And exactly what would you have done on 9 11 01? Nuked some country.? Rounded up all the bearded Americans. Shot down all the airliners in the world? Manned up and gone to your local recruiter and joined?
Sounds real easy from 14 years and many miles distance...a lot of courage and false bravado and smug superior knowledge comes from a safe distance. I can only hope you are in charge when the next wave hits.... maybe you could help in Afganistan,Syria Iraq or Iran. Isis loves leaders as sure as you.

Before you get all hostile and harsh my mellow, maybe you should know I'm referring to the current Iran "deal," since that's what DrZarkov's post is about. But don't let your misunderstanding get in your way.
As to 9/11/01 and your smug superior knowledge post, I would certainly never have asserted that Islam is either a religion of peace or the civilized world's friend.
As Ayn Rand said, there is only one way to deal with a bully: by superior force.

bsmith... No personal offense intended. Your message seemed to put the blame totally on the Republican leadership. The day of the attack, this country was so collectively terrified that no one had any idea of what to do. If we had been sure it was by a "country", Bush could have had a resolution passed in a minute to carpet nuke them,,,But there was no "country" . Time was lost and deadly messes were made because of C I A lies to the Pres. but the liars were never fired. Hopefully time will wound all heels.

            Peace, roneida

Your interwoven innuendos and assertions are counterfactual, DrZ. What is your agenda?

        Innuendos? Counterfactual? How?
How about the legal requirement that treaties be approved by Congress? How about the fact that Josh Earnest, speaking for Obama, said congress really has nothing to do with it. How about the fact that the so-called 60-day clock has not started ticking because all the particulars (side agreements) have not been revealed to congress? How about the fact that we are treating with a nation that calls for our own (and Israel's) obliteration? How about the fact that our administration cares so little for its own people that they did not presume to bargain for the release of 4 American political prisoners? How about the fact that the treaty calls for us to defend Iran in case Israel attacks it?
Charles I, King of England, was charged with treason and beheaded for less.
        What's your standard for treason?

The Democrat party has morphed into a disturbing copy of the Communist party (which is why the CPUSA has endorsed the Democrat Presidential candidate for the last 30 years). I want to see our political candidates for office from either party put loyalty to the American people first.
