Vaccination waivers will be tougher to obtain in Michigan under new rules

The forced vaccine push is advancing. Isn't it wonderful that (local, state and/or federal) government is there to educate us? It's apparent that, unless government is involved, citizens cannot make educated decisions.

It appears that can be corrected by making it more convenient to get the vaccination than to obtain a waiver.

No coercion. Just making sure the parent is making an educated decision. The fact that the parents don't want to vaccinate their child is, apparently, all the evidence needed to prove that the decision to not vaccinate is based on inadequate research and unreliable sources or...convenience.

It would be nice if people could admit aloud that vaccination makes kids safer and protects their peers through herd immunity, and even that it's a reason to press people into doing it. By not doing it you expose your kid to risk. You expose my vaccinated kids to risk because the vaccinations are only 80% effective, so it takes some herd immunity. You expose kids who for medical reasons cannot tolerate the vaccine to risk. All of that isn't enough reason to get into other people's lives.

I have the same thought about letting my 7 year-old play in the front yard. It exposes him to more risk of car accident or freak crime. There are indirect costs to society of having to deal freak accidents and crimes. But freedom isn't supposed to be free. We have to accept the price of "weirdo" like me who are willing to let kids play outside and "weirdos" who despite all the scientific evidence choose not to vaccinate their kids.

This topic can't be painted with such a broad brush. My advice would be that if you want to vaccinate your kids you should be able to do it as you see fit. If vaccines are safe and effective you're good. Right?

I don't get into internet debates on this topic. Frankly...I know a lot about it. But, I will give the following suggestion. Try, instead of just mentioning "vaccines", looking at each individual vaccine. As Ayn Rand would do, examine your premises to make sure you're comfortable with them.
