For a brief moment, at the top of the hill...

At 5:34 ET this morning, I reached the summit of the hill known as "50".
Immediately after that, I began the descent.

As I continue along, I can not think of a better group of people with whom to work, trade, converse, argue, and man the philosophical and cultural barricades.

We have something special here.
What a gift to be part of it.

Officially "Over the Hill",

Rick

    Congratulations, young feller! : )

At 72, I still look in the mirror in the morning and see that 18 year old kid wondering what the hell is going on. And often I feel just like that kid, amused, scared, and hopeful. And far more centered now.

Galt's Gulch is my refuge of sanity in an increasingly crazy world.

    Welcome to the bright side!

Yeah. That is me...At 62 I am still startled that I do not see a 20 or 30 year old me in the mirror. I have not had to stop doing anything that I enjoy (though I will admit to taking just a bit longer to recover).

Belated Happy Birthday. I reached that plateau about 6 years and 2 months ago. It doesn't have to be downhill from there, you are only as old as you feel. When I got my first divorce at 31, I felt the like the world was lifted off my shoulders and felt like I was 22 or 23 again. I changed my life and started to eat healthier, lots of fruits, nuts and veggies. Less soda and chips. Still waiting for feeling like I am 56, haven't reached that point yet. Good luck and best wishes Eudaimonia.

When you are young you are young, Then you mature and stay that way until the day the first social security check shows up. That makes you middle aged. Middle age is everything between youth and oldth. The rest I can't tell you about. Middle Age is taking up too much of my time. Enjoy the adventure!
