This was lightly talked about in our histoy classes in High School in the early 60's. I am willing to bet that this important event in our American history is not talked about at all, in either high schools or college campuses.

BTW: There was a similar situation in Meriwether country adjacent to Coweta county in Georgia about the same time. County was run by a local big shot and the county sheriff was on his payroll. really bad situation. Made into a movie titled "Murder in Coweta County" Starred Johnny Cash and Andy Griffith..
I am glad the subjects are being discussed. I am thinking that you may be or have been a Lawyer (please don't say, I like the mystery) and the subject comes up when one brushes by Constitutional Law. I do think some of the same issues are occuring today, just in a much more "suffisticated"(sp) manner.
Oh, wait... Athens Tennessee. My bad... let me rephrase:
Wasn't it still the Tennessee State Militia in 1946?
What is significant about returning war veterans isn't just that they took up arms *again*, but that it was returning veterans...
While they were away making the world safe for cultural diversity... who was left back at home? Corrupt, cowardly, leftists.
