This event is never talked about educationally, at least not in its entirety. It is one of my favorite comebacks to the mindless argument, "Corruption like that doesn't happen here. Nobody has ever taken up arms against any level of government and won." I reply that *that* simply is not the truth, I give them the basic story and tell them how to reference it, and even where to find the old movie about it. When the topic comes up again weeks later, and I realize that they have made no effort to research or understand it, I disregard them, and discontinue the conversation. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make them think. :-l

I learned about it in school and again in college and then again in grad school. Each instructor had a different approach to the issue and a different solution.
BTW: There was a similar situation in Meriwether country adjacent to Coweta county in Georgia about the same time. County was run by a local big shot and the county sheriff was on his payroll. really bad situation. Made into a movie titled "Murder in Coweta County" Starred Johnny Cash and Andy Griffith..

I deleted my post. It was the same video you are referencing. Never knew about it until I saw it last year. The question they asked, after the shooting in the post office, was answered, "What do we do now?" This is just like the voter fraud occurring today where voter ballot boxes disappear for hours.
