Some private space company will buy it for pennies on the dollar.

Fear not Lionel, BO will give it away to Russia, China, Europe, Japan, or India to help with their space explorations. Of course, the taxpayer will foot the bill for dismantling and shipping:-)

Maybe they could put a faux granite facing on it, call it Washington's Monument to Pull (&) Pork.

I agree creating jobs is a GOOD thing, but spending 350 mil to develop a "make work" project is ludicrous, worse than the worst of the WPA legacy.

No wonder it's said if Congress had to run the nation like a business, they'd be bankrupt and gone decades ago.

Another job creation program out of DC?
Once it's completed, they can hire companies to tear it down and recycle !

If the tower is hollow it might be possible to convert it into condos and sell them. Might be a little pricy for the average person and the local really blows.

It stinks that a Republican is responsible for this.
