Regal Theatre Gun Search
I went with a friend to see Ant Man today - for the second time. (There is no reason a movie with this premise should be as good as it is...but it is.) Unlike a couple of weeks ago when I originally saw the movie (same theater), this afternoon I was told that I would have to have my purse searched in order to go into the theater. I refused and gave them their tickets back.
I totally agree that the theater is their property and that they make the rules therein. But I will spend my money elsewhere while this directive is in force.
This took me by surprise, as I have gone to that theater many times - and I thought the people in the Gulch might want a heads-up on this in case it is happening in their neighborhoods too.

Maybe they're trying to insure it remains a "gun free zone" so the psychos who do smuggle a gun in will have an easier time playing shooting gallery. (I wonder what they'd do re my California CCW... Yes, some counties believe in the 2nd amendment and behave like a "Shall Issue" state rather than a "Shall Deny" one... heh heh heh...)
Doesn't matter... we don't have one here, so I won't be able to tell them how I refuse to patronize their theater.

Do you know any theater chains in SoCal that explicitly do NOT search?
