Resigning
Posted by Ranter 9 years, 4 months ago to Philosophy
I am hereby resigning my membership in :Galt's Gulch" because I believe that it is antithetical to the true purposes of Galt's Gulch. It is eliminating from membership people like me who are religious but who are committed to the economic and political philosophy of Ayn Rand. I'm out of here.

- 9Posted by Zenphamy 9 years, 4 months agoSorry to see you leave. But Ayn Rand didn't have an economic and political philosophy. Her philosophy was of life and it simply is not separable, like a crab to only eat the claws and legs and throw the rest away, or the deer whose head, guts, and hooves you toss. It's a philosophy that relies on existence with a mind that's used, and that A=A.Mark as read | Best of... | Permalink|

- 6Posted by khalling 9 years, 4 months agoRanter, I am sorry you feel the dissonance. IT has been my experience that those who announce they do not feel welcome in the Gulch, end up staying. So, I hope you stick around :)Mark as read | Best of... | Permalink|
- 5Posted by Mamaemma 9 years, 4 months agoRanger, I don't consider myself "religious", but I am not an atheist. I don't feel "eliminated" at all. The people in the Gulch have been nothing but welcoming to me. I have not noticed about you as an individual, but I have noticed that it is the people who insist that their religion be accepted who don't feel at home in this Gulch.Mark as read | Best of... | Permalink|
