If the immigration agency wanted to cut costs, reduce crime, and help the economy by encouraging people who want to work-
do not bother with border patrols, just raid the welfare office. That would not get many of the Asians, but a big haul of the other two groups mentioned.

I found this pointed down to zero. Myself, I see no difference between Chinese and Mexican illegals in that they both work for a living. That said, it certainly was easier for 25 agents to take down a restaurant than to - just for instance - patrol the border with Mexico…. because that would be an all day event, every day, all the time, with no office to back to…
