It's so refreshing to read something that doesn't bash or dismiss out of hand, this epic work of fiction, (looking more like reality). Clearly the author of the article needs to read the book, but I'm feeling uplifted after reading this. There are glimmers of comprehension out there!

His commentary about standing up to the government reminded me of something. Somebody close to our family stood up to our local school district and they, the administrators, cooked up a scheme and had our friend's three children taken away from her and put in foster homes. The local news media wouldn't touch the story.

    We live in strange times.

That's horrifying! Did they get their children back!?!? Have they hired a lawyer?

I don't think she got them back. We just reconnected via Linkedin and I'm going to see what happened. Sure, they might have had an attorney. But, this occurred in familiy court, which pretty much makes its own law. And, the judge didn't understand the basics of special education law - which is what the case pivoted on. I had her kids over at my house before and they were good, happy kids. Didn't matter. The judge sided with an invalid argument by the school district and stuck the kids in foster care. It destroyed my friend.

It was the best example of "white blackmail" I have ever seen. Schools will pair up with judges to break families apart if you piss them off. I had heard of that before this event. It's true.

That is a gross breach of ethics! That judge and family court attorneys need to be disbarred. They has an agenda they seemed hell-bent on sticking to. I'm so sorry your friends had to go through all of that. Shameful.
