Absolutism of Existence?

Recently, I've become fascinated by the absolute v. relativism debate that now defines morality, but as applied to individual existence.
Is individual character absolute or relative? Do people inherently act the same way whether they're in a formal setting or lounging about casually? If they don't, why?
And if people exaggerate different personality traits for different settings, can they truly be said to exist absolutely?

They shouldn't matter in any meaningful manner.
