Icon informing us of new Private Messages

I just checked my Private Messages, and realized that I received a message about a week ago but didn't realize it until just today. I think it would be extremely helpful if some kind of icon appeared next to our username in the upper-right corner of the screen whenever we have a new Private Message waiting for us.

We got this rolled out today. As you visit posts and what-not on the site, if you have any unread private messages, a count will display to the left of your username. If you click on that count, it will take you to your messages.
We will likely tweak how this works based on feedback, but the basic idea will probably remain.
