CES 2014 JANUARY 7-10 | SMART MOBILITY SOCIETY | TOYOTA MOTOR CORPORATION GLOBAL WEBSITE
Our Government Sucks,
GM was working on this and had prototypes in test markets back when Bush was in office. There go to market year as slated to be 2012. Then the government took over, killed the hydrogen fuel cell cars in favor of the electric car, the volt. The fuel cells were clearly a superior technology, but we went with the volt.
If government had stayed out of the way GM would have beat Toyota to market by 2 years. What a shame, many US jobs will be lost due to this snafu of the choice of the government ran GM.

- 1Posted by richrobinson 10 years, 11 months agoI have been reading about fuel cells for years. Sounds like a great technology for homes and cars. I figured with the money at stake. there would be a push to delay its release by oil companies and utility providers. This is going to get interesting.Mark as read | Best of... | Permalink|
- 2Posted by XenokRoy 10 years, 11 months agoI have to think that big oil tax money is what the government was attempting to maintain when they took over GM, fired Rick Wagner as CEO and shifted away from the fuel cell. Perhaps the Japanese government is not so short sighted.Mark as read | Parent | Best of... | Permalink|
