As he is called here in his "home" state, Tricky Dick Durbin the Turban is a piece of work. He is the guy who was appointed to take Barry Obummer's job after Barry stole the 2008 election. This was the very same seat Durbin held until he was forced to surrender it after being beaten in the previous election by Barry O. Some may recall he was appointed after our last governor tried to sell berries seat to the highest bidder. This is why our state has more living governors in prison than out.

I hope that after reading a bit of his history, perhaps you might see just how much we listen to him here.

Durbin's real world is certainly different than mine.

I took unemployment for one week back in the early 70's. it upset me so much that I started loading dynamite trucks. $10/truck/40,000lbs. = 800 boxes All by hand.

Less than unemployment, but much more satisfying.

Yes, put down those Ayn Rand books because Durbin's ignorance needs company. His remarks are appropriate, coming on the 50th anniversary of a war on poverty that is just as big a failure as the wars on terrorism and drugs.

Extending unemployment benefits merely extends poverty.

    Durbin always was a twit.
He's proof that even I could be a Senator. (maybe I'm overqualified...)

I think he's using Ayn Rand's name for political effect. He either hasn't pick up the books or knows he's talking to people for whom the name's a buzzword.

It's ironic that a politician plays politics using books that are about not politicking.
