I vividly remember seeing that at then age 15! Obviously I didn't comprehend it all but I was hooked. I checked the book out of our little library after but only got about halfway thru before other activities got in the way. Retired now, so there are no more papers to grade etc. to get in the way of starting over- from the beginning.

It is interesting that it would be in one's 'rational self interest' to help another fallen on the side of the road. Why, because you might one day find yourself in that very same predicament. It is profoundly interesting that someone else in history said the very same thing but no one wants to admit that he was talking about what is in one's own rational interest.

Have seen the entire Wallace interview. It is one of the best. MW is challenging but reasonable.

I liked how he respectfully asked her some challenging questions that someone new to Rand might have.

I saw her deal with hostile questioners, ones whose purpose was to reveal her hidden flaws or to trap her into impossible situations. She always was one step ahead, and would take the questioner apart, attacking his fundamental premises.

Wallace did try to direct the interview, but Rand pushed through regardless.

The video's cartoon was hideous, and I made it vanish so I could listen better. The added music was spooky and not to my taste at all. The cartoon and music were probably intended to negate any possibility of taking Rand seriously.

An open, objective mind cannot argue successfully against her reason. :)

I had viewed Wallace intimidate some very famous people with his aggressive questioning. Note how Rand refused to let him get away with anything, even to the degree that she had to talk over him to clarify her point. The force of her intellect overpowered him without so much as having to raise her voice one decibel.

Interesting that mike wallace probably did not realize that AR was important to him otherwise he would never have interviewed her. did he understand her; no!
