They could put the trucks on a track and with a computer and the appropriate sensors it wouldn't be that difficult. We could call it the Train. I'm sure I even saw that in a very good movie.

A taxpayer funded looter scam? It's a non-profit organization trying to get the regulations changed to let them be more profitable producers.

In what way is this either taxpayer funded or a looter scam?

  Who pays for the road upgrades on this hghway and the road that takes the human operated traffic no longer allowed on this road? Who will maintain the new restricted access corridor? Who pays for the thousands of illegals that are smuggled in on the trucks guaranteed not to contain illegals?

    Who says anything about human operated traffic no longer allowed on the road? We are at the dawn of the age of self driving cars. Having trucks along special routes would be a simpler version of the problem than driving through city streets.
    
    Presumably the trucks will pay for the roads the same way they do now.

      Another article on the subject made the statement that human operated vehicles would not be allowed, but that could be an assumption on the part of the article writer (and an error on my part, too.)
