They could put the trucks on a track and with a computer and the appropriate sensors it wouldn't be that difficult. We could call it the Train. I'm sure I even saw that in a very good movie.
Who pays for the road upgrades on this hghway and the road that takes the human operated traffic no longer allowed on this road? Who will maintain the new restricted access corridor? Who pays for the thousands of illegals that are smuggled in on the trucks guaranteed not to contain illegals?
Who says anything about human operated traffic no longer allowed on the road? We are at the dawn of the age of self driving cars. Having trucks along special routes would be a simpler version of the problem than driving through city streets.
