Peter Schweitzer, the same guy who is about to release his book "Clinton Cash", wrote a book a couple of years ago titled, "Throw Them All Out" in which he details chapter and verse the insider trading shenanigans of those in power. And it's not limited to one side of the aisle or the other; both sides and all political ideologies seem to be in it up to their eyeballs.

Given the degree to which the administration has been willing to use investigations as a political tool I can understand Congress asserting separation of powers. What was sought was directly related to communications about legislation.

Of course, it would be nice if they then policed their own.

Agreed. This is no different than Hillary not turning over government records.

These probes turn into witch-hunts where people are guilty by media assertion, and innocence is silent...unless it is a media favorite...when the whole thing is drummed up.

The whole process is a circus, because we let it be, and pay more for the tickets when people perform without a net.

"--our more than equal elite betters--"
I've written that many times before.
I feel moved to write that now.
I'm certain I'll be writing that many times again.

The original intent of the Founders in shielding members of Congress from lawsuit was strictly aimed at protecting them from blame for unforeseen results of laws they enacted. They feared that Congress that was constantly at risk of their personal fortune would hesitate to enact necessary laws. The intent was never to absolve them of responsibility for blatantly illegal personal misuse or abuse of their authority or positions, but that's what we've seen. It has become increasingly difficult to apply the same rules that the rest of us must abide by to those we elect. Obvious shameless thievery goes unpunished, and abuse of government power to persecute opposition is becoming more frequent.

As I compile the injustices perpetrated by our current government, the list begins to look like the same list documented in the Declaration of Independence that laid the foundation of the right to overthrow the tyranny of the Crown. Are we headed in the same direction?

the politicians give info to whom ever and then put money into those avenues of investment. i recall when i lived in columbia s.c. strum thurmond new of a new interstate that would go into columbia and bought the lane from the farmers who owned it to resell to the government at who knows how much above his cost, but it must have been substantial because he was selling it to the government and he ran the show. the washington crowd is bent like a snake.

We have the right without explanation to take your rights without exception.

To quote Samuel Clemens. "Congress is America's only true home grown criminal class."

To quote someone. I think it was Richard Nixon commenting on Executive Privilege....

Is there such a thing for Congressionals?

Vote Government Party! Democrat or Republican - Does it matter?

The opinion of our Royal Imperial Congress.
"They have no bread? Let them eat pizza!"
Their attitudes are getting awfully close to the reasons for the French Revolution.

I think POTUS, VPOTUS, and a of Congress should make $1.00 per year.... They are suppose to represent us, not the other way around... Any pay raises should be voted on by the people, not Congress. If they cheat, they should be held accountable!!!!

Hey rainman0720, is this the ancient LUCY from Africa? This thought came into my head after reading Jan's Ancient DNA comment.
Yes, ALL of them are crooks...if not before election then after moving to DC.
we had a radio commentator trying to get people to DRIP....don't reelect incumbent politicians.
    Didn't work.
