    Macdonough's Song by Rudyard Kipling

"As easy as A B C"--A Diversity of Creatures"

Whether the State can loose and bind
In Heaven as well as on Earth:
If it be wiser to kill mankind
    Before or after the birth--
These are matters of high concern
    Where State-kept schoolmen are;
But Holy State (we have lived to learn)
    Endeth in Holy War.

Whether The People be led by The Lord,
Or lured by the loudest throat:
If it be quicker to die by the sword
Or cheaper to die by vote--
These are things we have dealt with once,
(And they will not rise from their grave)
For Holy People, however it runs,
    Endeth in wholly Slave.

    Whatsoever, for any cause,
    Seeketh to take or give
Power above or beyond the Laws,
    Suffer it not to live!
    Holy State or Holy King--
    Or Holy People's Will--
Have no truck with the senseless thing.
    Order the guns and kill!
    Saying --after--me:--

    Once there was The People--Terror gave it birth;
Once there was The People and it made a Hell of Earth
Earth arose and crushed it. Listen, 0 ye slain!
Once there was The People--it shall never be again!

So sad, Barbara didn't get her dreams fulfilled. Boo hoo. This cult of personality stuff must be difficult to maintain when the philosophy is destined to failure as history has repeatedly demonstrated.

I don't think she meant herself, although grammatically that's what we means. Sometimes media personalities use it to mean other people.

This doesn't have anything to do with Marxism.

She's right that expectations for President Obama were high. I keep hoping this will somehow lead to a libertarian candidate.

Well, he still might be. After all, most of his background history is a fairy tale. He says lots of contradictory things. And he seems to believe that tax money just materializes out of nowhere (or a fish's mouth).

Had Bawbwa and company had a thorough grounding in Kipling in grammar school, they might not have been so anticipating a messiah, and focused on hiring a clerk.

That's what the chief executive is, when you get right down to it.

When has there ever been a great ruler or great leader who started out great by proclamation? Elisabeth I, George Washington, just for two examples of great leaders who earned their acclamation before it was awarded.

On the other hand, just about every tinpot, would-be dictator on the planet had a PR campaign preceding his anointment.

Some would-be slaves, leftist drones, never figure the formula out: a great leader's great because of what he's done; he won't do great things because he's declared to be great.

Agreed on OPs comment. What makes me laugh is her feigning respect for Christmas by saying she shouldn't say what she did around Christmas-time. They don't give a rat's feces about Christmas or anything else for that matter and, more than that, likely could not define Messiah if they had to.

Frankly, the Jews should be most offended by her statement. Their is only one Messiah, so using the term "next" is an insult.
