I recognized Obama as a wannabe dictator from the first time I heard him. I've read Eric Hoffers "The True Believer - A Study of Mass Movements" and when I heard the words "Hope and Change" come out of Obama's mouth I remembered Hoffer warning that those are the words that presage an oppressive authoritarian state.

My discomfort comes from studying the Insurrection Act, first passed in 1807, and still in effect. This law gives the President sole power to declare a state to be "insurrectionist", meaning that he judges that the residents of a state are being denied the full exercise of their constitutional rights, and the governor is either unable or unwilling to correct the situation. Once he makes that declaration, he can institute martial law in that state (or states). Congress does not have to consent to this declaration or action, and takes precedence over Posse Comitatus.

All it would take is one such state, and I have no doubt that would enable Obama to call for a hold on elections "until the crisis is resolved."

I continue to ask what the end game is? If the government continues to take over everything then the source i.e. monies needed to pay their people will disappear and of course all of the makers of products and growers of food will disappear, and then they will have nothing. In the event that you have not read or heard Ayn Rand last lecture "sanction of the victims" I suggest you acquaint your self with it. It appears to me that under the 0 leadership of the government the nation is declining much faster than imaginable. Most importantly the economy is going down the toilet.

I remember WAAAaay back in 2006, when Obama started running for president doing a lot of personal research into his "known" writings, associates, Michelle's writing and associations, and their associates writings.

I came to the conclusion that Obama was a "Hitler" wannabe. I was called crazy.

Well, if I am not mistaken didn't Adolf Hitler have the "Brown Shirts" that were the National Police?

I am seeing far too many parallels between Hitler and Obama for my own personal comfort.

and to me I think the most disturbing thing is that there are so many people Hailing him as the second coming. Same thing the German people did when Hitler had his rise to power.

Adolf Hitler's rise to power began in Germany in September 1919 when Hitler joined the political party known as the Deutsche Arbeiterpartei. So do not think that the rise to ultimate power happens overnight.

1919 until his defeat in 1945 was a total of 26 years.

Obama is only 6 years in. Obama is also a VERY, VERY power hungry ambitious person. 2016 is not far off, and there is a lot yet to unfold between now and Nov, 2016.

I have said for the last 2 years, Obama is not going to give up his power so easily...especially when so many are still fawning all over him as a glorious leader. Much the same as the majority in Baltimore, who have had Democratic Liberal Leadership for over 50 years, and yet they still for some reason think Conservatives are to blame for their problems.

Wow. Even though it seems that everything has been said already, it is absolutely stunning to watch it all unfold within a lifetime and despite all that has been said.

Why, with all the history to guide humanity, does this all have to happen? Even to this day, excellent books and movies are coming out (just watched The Book Thief) about life under Nazism, under the Bolsheviks, or under Mao. Why is there this blatant blind spot in the public mindset to recognize what is happening? The best answer I have read to date is in Leonard Peikoff's "The Ominous Parallels". Another gem from 1957.

At the core of this is the penchant for way too many minds to be able to deny themselves that A is A. To not recognize a truth as a truth and to engage in such torturous rationalizations to have it both ways. I'd like to say it is unbelievable, but that would be the same denial of a truth staring us in the face.

With each passing day, I see more and more over-reach by our government and less desire from our legislative branch to do anything about it. I consider any of these with the ability to do something, yet not willing to do anything about this just as culpable as our POTUS is.

And why would anyone think that federal police would be any better? Google "diesel therapy" some time. Federal authorities have been doing it for years.
