Baltimore Riots as Criminal Culture Writ Large

The Baltimore riots represent the criminal culture of theft, vandalism, and violence writ large, a culture created the welfare state. Yes, it's like something out of Atlas Shrugged, especially in the attempts by politicians to evade even discussing the nature of the rioters for fear that they might have to acknowledge the truth about the welfare state.

Of course, the issue isn't about what label to attach to the rioters. It's about what moral responsibility to attach to them and, by extension, to those who have administered the city since 1967 and the public policies and moral standards--or lack of same--that they have promoted. This is evasion of reality on a massive scale.

    Greetings DrEdwardHudgins,
Yes, the welfare state culture and institutionalized dependency mindset has pervasive repercussions. Many though blind to this reality are reaping the benefits and they aren't pretty. It is on the road to AS.
Not to worry... their retort is always the same. They just didn't spend enough or do it right... but next time... Marxist nonsense. Never worked, never will.
    Respectfully,
    O.A.

I keep waiting for someone to speak the truth... but that just wouldn't be "nice".

Yeah, we can't call things what they are, because someone's feelings might get hurt.
The ones who worry about getting their feelings hurt aren't the thugs and the looters, though - the ones who care are the ones who are being so careful not to use the newly-banned "bad" words.
      why is that, d'you think?
Maybe it's because if we call a thug a thug, and a vandal a vandal, we become emboldened to call a political appointee a truth-twisting hack, and up the ladder it might go.

if wishes were horses, then beggars would ride...

        Hello winterwind,
Just out of curiosity, even knowing full well the answer I looked up the word thug and surprise, surprise! there was no mention of skin color whatsoever... Who would have thought... :)
        Regards,
        O.A.
