I found my Judge Narragansett: Mike Lee
This is one of the best books I've read about how our Constitution has been willfully undermined in the two centuries (and especially the last) since the Founding of this nation. Lee does a very concise yet thoughtful history on several of the key clauses in the US Constitution such as the Origination Clause, the 2nd Amendment, the 4th Amendment, the Commerce Clause and a few others before going into how we fix the system.
For those who don't know, Lee's father was a Solicitor General responsible for arguing before the Supreme Court and Lee grew up with the Constitution discussed daily around the dinner table. Lee himself served as a clerk to Justice Samuel Alito before going into politics and managed to defeat a powerful three-term Republican incumbent in the primaries. He stands as one of the most ardent advocates of limited government in Washington, D.C. along with Rand Paul, Ted Cruz, and a few others.

Thank you for the recommendation. I have added it to my list also.
