It reminds me of the absurd vignette in Woody Allen's old "Everything You Wanted to Know About Sex..."...where the wife catches her husband in bed with another woman, and the "other woman" and the man totally ignore the wife. The woman and man get dressed, the woman leaves, and the husband greets the wife as if nothing untoward had happened. As the scene ends, the wife is left with a look that says she's doubting what she had just seen.
I think Obama's spokespeople are shown that scene, and then are somehow convinced that it can be pulled of in real life...
