The EPA teams up with UC to regulate your grill

A match made in crony hell, if I ever saw one. I was actually not surprised in the least when I read which university was getting the grant to fund this utterly ridiculous waste of money study to limit how I enjoy cooking my food. Btw, because there isn't natural gas available where I live, my stove is operated using propane... Is that getting scrutinized soon, I wonder??

When are the representatives, who supposedly have our backs, going to finally deal with the EPA in an aggressive manner of defunding their punitive projects?? Because enough is enough!
I WILL NOT COMPLY!

For those with Netflix, there is an episode of "Young Indiana Jones" which is an insane condemnation of bureaucracy. I wish I could remember the name of the episode, but it sounds so much like this craziness.

Mr. Obama, thank you for your concern, but my grille is not subject to government jurisdiction. For your information, mine is an all-natural grille, fueled by charcoal and either hickory or mesquite wood chips. It results in no harmful residue, because all combustion products are directly vented to the atmosphere and the resulting ash is disposed of in my garden to enrich its soil. Drippings are all vaporized and vented directly to the atmosphere during the cooking process. The resulting odors from the charcoal soot and the vaporized hydrocarbons and organic molecules can be smelled throughout my neighborhood. Any regulator coming onto my property because of my grille must be prepared to stare down the muzzle of a gun.

This seems like yet another case of gov't trying to apply the same rules everywhere. Maybe there are a few very densly populated urban areas where this is a problem. I could easily see those communities creating an ordinance. The Fed gov't, though, seems inclined to having the same rules everywhere.

Trust me, Berkeley is regulating them (and even trying to outlaw fireplaces, and make people tear out existing ones!) way ahead of the feds.

The way Berkeley is regulating its people, I expect them to be passing out the Kool-Aid any day now. Go, lemmings, go!

Aren't they annoyed the fed gov't encourages local gov'ts to arrest them for smoking pot? You'd think they'd know to leave other people's smoke alone.
