Alternate. A term often used by the government, usually with a bill, that will contain everything you don't want but you won't know it until after it’s made the law of the land. See Obama Care. Closely associated with unprecedented.

Definition: The status quo
Try it. Substitute "status quo" every time someone from the government talks about "national security" and you would be amazed how clear things become.

Promise- In five years, no child will be living in poverty
Means (and what happened)- More tax. Taxes in five years were higher, there were more children living in poverty.
Promise- blah, blah
Means (and what happened)- Got yer. Promise ignored, 'it was not a core promise'.
Promise- There will be no tax on carbon in any government I lead.
Means (and what happened)- 'will be' and there was.
It's just a game of hide-n-seek. In law the meaning of a word is not the definition found in a dictionary, but what is defined in the law books. Black could mean white, if it defined that way.

Definition: Not what the TSA does to American citizens.
"Collection" or “Collect”
Definition: Not what the TSA does with all the metadata they store and analyzed by an algorithm searching for key words.
“Content”
Definition when applied to the TSA: “any information concerning the identity of the parties to such communication or the existence, substance, purport, or meaning of that communication.”
Contrast that with the Federal Wire Tap Act which defines "content' as “substance, meaning or purport of a communication.”
"Executive agreement"
Definition: An agreement that has the effect and consequences of a treatise without all that bothersome constitutional crap of "advice and consent".
"Taxable income"
Definition: (a) In general
Except as provided in subsection (b), for purposes of this subtitle, the term “taxable income” means gross income minus the deductions allowed by this chapter (other than the standard deduction).
"Gross income"
Definition: (a) General definition Except as otherwise provided in this subtitle, gross income means all income from whatever source derived, including (but not limited to) the following items: (1) Compensation for services, including fees, commissions, fringe benefits, and similar items; (2) Gross income derived from business; (3) Gains derived from dealings in property; (4) Interest; (5) Rents; (6) Royalties; (7) Dividends; (8) Alimony and separate maintenance payments; (9) Annuities; (10) Income from life insurance and endowment contracts; (11) Pensions; (12) Income from discharge of indebtedness; (13) Distributive share of partnership gross income; (14) Income in respect of a decedent; and (15) Income from an interest in an estate or trust. (b) Cross references For items specifically included in gross income, see part II (sec. 71 and following). For items specifically excluded from gross income, see part III (sec. 101 and following).
Meaning - bend over.

Left - Those that favor goveernment control of citizens
Center - Those that have a sacred ground and keep at least one foot in it limiting the distance one can stray. Democrats for example have no sacred ground. Republicans claim they do.
Right. Originally designated for those who were leaders by divine right I can think of no better replacement, divine or not, to occupy that position than citizens who believe in controlling government.
Extremists. Anarchists to the far right and your run of the mill garden variety left wing socialist fascists to the left better none and Communists, Nazis and a fews other terms on done to Democrats and finally Repubicans the left and right wings of the left in modern day USformerly A.
Insurgent: Any group looking to overthrow a government we support and in which we have military bases..
Resistance fighter: Any group helpful to us in trying to overthrow a government we don't like.
Freedom fighter: The same as any of the above three but in countries invaded by other than us or our allies.
