Hey Jason, do you service speakers as well? I've got an 18" active Behringer that is giving me some trouble in that it randomly just goes quite. When I jam the volume pot to 10, I can kick it back on but that's just not the solution I'm looking for of course.

I've taken it apart, cleaned all of the connections, but without success. Any suggestions?

Ok, first off, if it happens most frequently after the sub has been on for awhile, it is possible that it is going into protect. I doubt this because you say that moving the volume pot will make it function again. So, that leaves us with a bad volume pot (potentiometer) or perhaps a cold solder joint where the wires leave the volume pot. I would visually inspect the volume pot from the inside and see if anything obvious looks loose. It is not easy being an amplifier module in an active subwoofer! I'm traveling tomorrow, but you can call me on Thursday toll free at 866-444-8090. Tell them we've talked before or my gatekeepers may not let you through. Thanks - Jason

One last thing, does the subwoofer ever sound strained or distorted? Since you've taken it apart and can't really see a problem I'm leaning toward a cold solder joint somewhere on the pcb board. The board is most likely housed in a metal enclosure that is not much fun to take apart. What model is it so I can look at some schematics?
