Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.

    Lord Acton

What happens if you are absolutely corrupt before you gain power?
Executive orders are anathema to our founding principles, except when temporarily used for protection from imminent enemy attack. Every other use is one of an usurper.

We preserve the Republic by making "them" accounatable for their actions. Not allowing them to hide their shame behind our good work. The reason there was such an uproar over Romeny's 47% remark was because it pulled away their shield. If he had stayed on that path and not pulled away, he'd be president. But instead, he backed off and played nicely. Nice doesn't work with those left leaning goof balls.

Absolute power corrupts absolutely, and those who should be in a position to check or stop that corruption either lack the drive or the desire to stop it, or are taking a soft approach because, like the populus, have decided that instead of doing the RIGHT thing, it's easier and softer to jump on the bandwagon... as long as they don't make it *too* obvious so they can get away with it.

      Hemp? Nylon? Sisal?

When the talking heads on the news, even the supposed right wing news keeps saying we're a democracy instead of a Constitutional Republic this is what we get.
FYI: Constitutional Republic = rule of law
Democracy = rule of the mob
I've even email some of the news programs and asked them to explain this difference. The silence is deafening.
