Wow! This should be a monster story that would make Watergate look like child's play and be comparable to Enron in terms of how big a deal it is. Don't pay attention to that man behind the curtain.
Hopefully this information will get to the Senate committee in charge of approving the AG appointment. My question is does this information make republicans look bad in any way. If so, this may not see the light of day.
Sigh. Don't you get tired of hearing the same things over and over and over again?
We need a word that says, "You are evil because you do not agree with me." and then we can use it at whim instead of just co-opting terms that actually have their own meanings.
The word to describe how I feel is battle-fatigued. We will soon enough hear the "word that says, 'You are evil because you do not agree with me.' " It will be employed in a future presidential campaign.
I feel a bit like the 'one eyed man in the land of the blind'. Or worse, the sighted woman in the land where everyone else has eyes but does not seem to see.
Anyone opposing her confirmation will be labeled sexist and racist, so she will be confirmed regardless. This criminal activity will be ignored, as usual because the money will find it's way to the 'appropriate' accounts.
Why is everything steered by 'ists'? What happened to facts and honesty? I'm a fact-ists and an honesty-ist. I'm sick of lying women and maniacal black "leaders" getting an automatic pass because they're dna or skin pigment serves as some shield of superiority.
Agreed. +1. Everything is shades of gray these days and no more A is A. It's sickening, designed to quell discussion and descent and keep the masses all going the same direction to the slaughter house.
So the banks like drug money accounts because it shores up their 'reserves' which allows them to expand lending of credit created from nothing. Surprise! Another conflict of interest by the banksters who think their only responsibility is to convert the marks' (customers') assets into bankster assets. Vampire squid, indeed!
Where else have the banksters used their influence to support the failed drug war for this nefarious purpose?
It's a developing story from what I hear. We will have to see if it has legs. Like most Obama supporters it will probably find a way to be swept under the rug.
Right out of the Alinsky playbook: Obfuscate and blur. Write a health law so obtuse that no one can understand it. Cover illegalities with a fog of language. Put off doing anything until everyone forgets about it.
How The Obama Regime Gets Away With It; "A health inspector goes into the home of a hoarder. The place is in disgusting shape, but worst of all, she points out human feces in a corner. "What do you do about that?" she asks the hoarder. "Oh that?" comes the reply. "We just sweep it around until we lose it."
Former Treasury Secretary got away with it using social secuirty funds on the tessabono bail out directly benefiting his real employer Goldman Sachs in which, blind trust or not, he held stock.
Didn't rate a ho hum much less any excitement
This one is just following the leaders. When it gets a bit hot like Chris Dodd they move to million dollar a year jobs
Ho hum is all you are going to get from the Government Party better known as the Inside Traders.
I've often wondered why congress had to pass a law supposedly making it against the law to use the knowledge they have for insider trading. So much for everyone equal under the law.
You don't think this is a good rule? That our lawmakers don't use their inside info to line their own pockets? Or worse, use their position to influence events in order to favor their investments...?
I don't think it's necessary for them to pass a law to specifically make it against the law for them to use insider information that they had when it was already against the law to use insider information.
They might have a problem with short memory loss? The real answer could be that Congressmen have a sort of diplomatic immunity, and the law negates this.
Obama Nominated, Obama Approved. She meets all of his important the qualifications - Black Female with Connections (aka BFC). Extra points if you're either Islamic or have radical connections.
Or don't pay your taxes or have some other suspicious tricks in your personal history. I'll bet that congress confers her anyway. Especially since she's already said she's OK with illegal aliens to be in the country so long as they have a job,
I skimmed through the entire article, searching for the meaning of HSBC - to no avail. I guess that's not surprising, since the website doesn't even tell you what WND means!
I sat next to the Colonel in first class many years ago (Eastern airlines, to show how long ago).
He was in a wheelchair in the terminal, and being pushed by a young traveling companion. We all watched him board first, and then we were allowed to get on the plane.
I was surprised to find him next to my seat, and asked him if he would like me to change my seat assignment, so that his companion could sit with him. "Oh no" he replied, "he is in coach. Only the Colonel flies First Class."
I could almost write a New Yorker length article with the personal stories he told me...such as he only made it out of the third grade!
It's actually pretty good if you get it before it's been sitting under the heat lamps for hours. Been awhile since I've been there, but since it's Tues, that makes me think of chicken livers for dinner - yum!
Your link doesn't solve the problem - does it mean nothing, or does it mean Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation? My comment could have been written about a lot of articles. Even my local newspaper is guilty. The first time an acronym is used, it should have its meaning enclosed in parens!
A simple Bing search would have shown that this is a British (multi-national) financial institution. I assume that the writer thought that was fairly well understood by the primary audience.
Similarly, WND could be found with a simple search. It has become rather ubiquitous, kind of like CNN - does anyone call it Cable News Network?
These are not the slush funds you are looking for...

Stomping the rugs in our rec rooms isn't getting us anywhere...!

And he gets elected twice!

KFC has been used so often it can be difficult to find out it means Kentucky Fried Chicken too, The letters are easier to market
Check out their about page, you won't find that name anywhere (well, you will, but only in an historical pic).
