I don't think the corruption starts when they get to D.C. Most have come up from at least state levels if not city or county. It takes vast financial resources to get elected even at the local/state levels and to get it you have to sell your soul. There are a very few who go for the right reasons when they get to the federal level. These are the ones who will self regulate and leave. One big draw back to term limits is that it takes so long to learn who the real pull people are that bureaucrats run the show. Always follow the money. The big money is in BIA.
