Gun Control
Gun Control, by Thomas D. Blackburn
That is a term grossly misused in the media today.
There are two parts to real gun control. First, never take it out of the holster unless you intend to fire it, and second, hit what you aim at. That is gun control.
What the media is really talking about in most conversations today is actually PEOPLE control. The masters of the media want all people to be disarmed, just like the Jews in Nazi occupied Europe were, so they can control us. I don't think they consider the criminal element, who won't be bothered by laws restricting gun ownership, to be that serious a problem. In fact they may consider them to be potential allies. Really are gangsters any more criminal then some of our politicians?*
The really worrisome politicians are the ones who proclaim their desire to make the world 'fair' for everyone, who want to 'redistribute the wealth' so that everyone is equal. Reality has made us each different in so many ways. Some people like opera, others like rock. Neither is good or bad in itself, it is just a preference. To try to force everyone to like the same music is as stupid as trying to make everyone have the same goals and dreams. In its final state such policies lead to poverty for all.
So the next time you hear someone talk about gun control ask yourself: “Is she really talking about hitting what I aim at or does she want to take over my life?”
*I realize some politicians are honest folk, but you have to be blind not to realize that there are more then a few who are out right dishonest.

I lived in Florida for twenty plus years prior to moving to Hawaii and had a Concealed Carry Weapon License for all twenty plus years. During that 20 plus years I never left the house without a firearm concealed on my person. What many find interesting is that when Florida enacted the CCW law in 1987, violent crime incidents, i.e., home invasions and assaults fell dramatically because the "Bad Guys" could not tell who was armed and who wasn't.
If only we had the ability to carry concealed here in Hawaii, the Nannyist of the Nanny States. It may be paradise in some ways, but because of drugs and gangs, this can be a very dangerous place to be at times. Unfortunately, my Florida CCW Permit is not valid in Hawaii. G-d willing and the creek don't rise we will also have 2nd amendment rights here as well, can't happen soon enough. There was just now a story on the local news about a young woman who was attacked in her kitchen by a man with a knife, he was able to stab her multiple times before she escaped.
But you're right. They don't want to be in charge of your gun, your drugs, your meals, etc; they want to be charge of you.
We'll just go back to big guys, martial artists and knife wielders having physical authority...except for the Government!
[I hear the groans.]
First, how do you control a gun? If they go with you, and answer: lock them up, restrict access, make laws against x or y, etc. then go farther, no matter what they say: How will restricting my access to ... How will passing another law about safe storage, which I already obey... etc. achieve the aims you say you want?
In essence, look them in the eye and ask them exactly how what they want to do TO YOU will solve the problem.
Unfortunately, they'll quibble off and babble about it's not about you, and other inanities. You will not change their position.
What you might change is the position of their supporters. Yes, it's important to ask yourself these questions, and answer them.
It's also important to get your voice out there to show them up as the liars and tyrants they are.
That would be Doctor Colt. A physician and inventor of the Colt revolver.
I think there's a lot of truth in that statement. Consider that a disarmed populace faced with armed criminals is even more dependent on government for safety than if the criminals were also disarmed.
