Thank Ya Ma'am. I followed a couple of the threads that you were participating in Oh My, don't know if I want to allow myself to get into those heavy discussions. Just too complex and too far from reality I'm afraid. I do understand. I read everything Ayn Rand wrote, starting with The Fountainhead, then all of her popular non-fiction books ,then Atlas Shrugged, then the shorter less popular novels. But this was all back in the 60's and 70's when I was a young man. I began the adventure as an agnostic. Then I became a "born again" Christian and talked that talk and walked that walk with everything I had for about 30 years. During that time I still appreciated Ms. Rand's philosophy but of course had to make adjustments for her atheism. Now, many moons later I'm fully de-converted and back to being your friendly neighborhood atheist. :-) But... the Randian version of Libertarianism will never be reality if we are honest with ourselves so I choose to call myself Conservative, Pro-Life Atheist. And since I don't see an atheist politition on the horizon and since I am a Patriot and believe we have a serious obligation and duty to vote and elect our leaders, despite his Christianiy, I've been working hard to help draft dr. Ben Carson. I'll stop right there because I suspect that could open up a whole big can of worms. Anyway, thanks again for the welcome. Spence
Thank you as well Rich. Looks like you're one of the pioneers here. For me, while I will enjoy visiting here, my days are numbered so I choose what I trade my time for wisely. I gave up TV for that reason many years ago but the Internet is every bit as seductive so I will not be spending the time that you and a lot of others do here I'm sure. At least I hope not :-). Thanks again for the welcome too. Spence
