    Reason is earned, rarely granted.

Guess that make you rare, eh?

For grant read "Acknowledge" reason as our primary conceptual faculty used to understand anything. Only then will you be able to to have a rational discourse with anyone including yourself.
Please do tell me you are not one of those ego driven fools who has persuaded himself that he is always "The smartest man in the room" before you have even properly introduced yourself.
I do not intend to get drawn into a pissing contest.

As acknowledged above, it was intended as a humorous comment on your handle.
If I was 'one of those ego driven fools' I wouldn't admit it ;^) I try to avoid such contests, too. I think you'll find plenty to discuss here that will interest you though.

reason is the faculty that identifies and integrates the material provided by man's senses. THE OBJECTIVIST ETHICS BY AYN RAND

Reason integrates man's perceptions by means of forming abstractions or conceptions, thus raising man's knowledge from the perceptual level, which he shares with animals, to the conceptual level, which he alome coan reach. The method which reason employs in this process is logic --and logic is the art of non-contradictory identification. FAITH AND FORCE:THE DESTROYERS OF THE MODERN WORLD BY AYN RAND.

Many on this site should get a copy f the AYN RAND LEXICON and keep it on your desk as a reference guide.

Norman 1, Quoting literally from Ayn Rand will always earn my agreement. After studying "Objectivism" for some 50 yrs. now and still unable to identify a single contradiction in principles, I have acquired a small library of works on or about the subject including 6 copies of The Lexicon. I used to struggle whenever I was fortunate enough to encounter a rational mind, to determine which of her works to recommend. The Lexicon solved that problem very nicely, Thanx
