My Personal Rant

I wanted to post this, with no link, to just get on my soapbox. Testing the character limit of the "Note" field.

A burglar took a few bytes out of the California home of the late Steve Jobs — and Apple bit back.
The thief snatched tens of thousands of dollars in Tiffany jewels, Cristal champagne along with iMacs, iPads, an Apple TV and even Jobs’ wallet — and he might have never been caught except he made the ultimate mistake: He used the technology.

Kariem McFarlin is in jail today on charges of residential burglary and selling stolen property because he accessed iTunes with one of the stolen iPads — and both the tablet and his account tipped off investigators.

McFarlin, 35, did get a few days to enjoy his haul, though, according to a police report obtained by The Daily. The burglary happened late July 17 and into the wee hours of the next morning, but he didn’t get nabbed until two weeks later.

As far as break-ins go, the Jobs job was a relatively simple one, the report shows: No one was home and the burglar used a key that he found at the house.

The mansion that the Apple founder shared with his wife, Laurene Powell, was being renovated. Powell had decided to put a little distance between herself and the construction, moving to another house she owns just around the corner.
