Why is the 73 million dollars spent (so far for the last two years) worth of cost for federal regulations and "environmental requirements" NOT the number 1 reason? They stick it on the bottom of the list as if it's of the least significance. WAKE UP, PEOPLE! Grrr.
This is nothing, there are 73 Gw of coal plants going offline over the next 2 years. All because of EPA regs. We however will not be building a replacement 73 Gw of base load. So, right now we are not far off from there being rolling blackouts in places like Wyoming. Also, just wait till a hot week in New York City where they are also having rolling brownouts and blackouts. I would suggest that pretty much no matter where you live, if you are able to keep the lights on with your own on roof solar or whatever.. It might be a good idea to also invest in blackout curtains, as you would be sticking out like a sore thumb in those cases.
I love the first reason: to maintain reliable service. wtf was I paying for all along?! the second reason doesn't make any sense. I read it like 5 times. It's how they teach you to write in college. reason 3: BINGO! that's why the rate needs to go up. Reason 4. the employees are unionized and their pensions are at risk. they aren't telling you this reason
They increased everyone's costs in my county by over a 100%, then had the nerve to come to the house unannounced for an informal inspection to see if there ways we could reduce our cost using energy-saving means. Some of my neighbors found it quite informing. It just pissed me off. They tried to tell me how I already paid for the inspection program with my taxes. I sent them away without allowing them in.
Get used to it folks. It's Obama's utopia we're living in. Glen Beck was talking on the Blaze weeks ago about future rolling blackouts due to O's EPA closing so many Coal run utilities.
It seams to me that if you have record sales you would have no need to raise prices since the demand would allow you to sell more power at the same or better margins than you do the power all ready being generated.
So #2 is that because they are selling more power they need to increase the per unit cost. That's a reverse economy of scale. I wish they would cite the economist or argument stating economy of scale works in reverse.
Yeah...more business more money... didn't make sense to me either. Am I the only one who reads this crap? I'm starting to think so. That environmental demands should be first, highlighted, upper cased and worded more sternly with a big fat BEWARE warning in front of it.
Just one more of the many signs of a failing empire... It is now practical and economic to purchase wholesale solar panels .. DIY... installation and go completely off grid. Insulate yourself from all further rate hikes.

And I even reread my title for errors. Geeze
What a crock that message is
