The persistent quest for last reserves of oil under disguise of hunting terrorists. What will be next after oil is gone? Will the World return to trading goods for goods or precious metals and not promissory notes? Will the society will be accepting of all people regardless of their personal beliefs, as long as those beliefs are not causing harm? Ultimately will we evolve into supreme beings interested in mutual benefit that will in turn benefit us as well at the fullest? Or, are people wired for self destruction, and need to be herded by supreme beings to be preserved? Personally, while I believe in goodness of humanity, we are at least 500 years from even remotely coming close to living in harmony with each other. What do you think?

      Good morning bigdog1100,
When whale oil lighted our homes and we had just about caused the whales extinction, man found and developed Oil. One could argue that Rockefeller saved the whales. Something always comes along. One cannot predict the future, or what medium of exchange will be used. Past is prologue. It is reasonable to expect that there will continue to be variables among differing societies. Some will be more accepting/ tolerant than others. Our own evolution is unpredictable. I believe we are wired for survival. Each of us is our own supreme being. There is no empirical evidence to suggest alternatives. There will never be complete harmony among people. The variability of humanity and their disparate expectations will conflict. Of course this is subjective and depends upon your expectation and level of harmony. Harmony is within your own power and your state of mind. Surround yourself with like minded people who wish to co-exist peacefully, and that is where you will find it.
      Respectfully,
      O.A.

Good afternoon ObjectiveAnalyst. Thank you for your reply. Good post. Yes I agree that there will always be something to fight for in terms of resources, etc. I just hope we can co-exist in better terms than now for our mutual benefit. I also am surrounding myself with like minded individuals, it appears to be very supportive for me as well as others.
