Voter ID laws a non-issue in election

So despite all of the hand-wringing and fear-mongering from Democrats, only 773 out of more than 2.1 million ballots in Virginia were even in question. That's .003%. And all those people had to do was fill out a provisional ballot and return at some point during the week with their ID to have their vote count.

Now we just need this in all 50 states.

I was just checking the numbers and in 2010, the last midterm elections, the turnout was 2.2 million. 2014 is slightly lower at 2.1 million. It would sure seem that the Democrats argument just doesn't hold up. Turnout was consistent with other mid terms and few problems reported. Excellent.

This last election, I worked as election judge in a precinct that is predominantly black and poor. No one showed up to vote who did not have a photo ID. No one was turned away.

I have worked in elections for about 25 years and I can attest that voter fraud is real and we suspected a number of cases that we could not prove. In Texas, we are not allowed to bring a camera into the polls. If we could, I think that we could have disqualified a number of fraudulent votes.

It is very, very difficult to prove voter fraud. Judges are extremely reluctant to prove voter fraud. They do not want to interfere with elections or intimidate voters.

My father ran for mayor and lost by about 50 votes. There were about 68 mail-in ballots from one nursing home that were all marked with the same pen and appeared to have been marked by the same person. The handwriting expert did not have enough writing to testify that it was one person. As a result, the only way that we could have proven that the votes were fraudulent, would have been to subpoena all 68 of these elderly voters and have them testify in court. I don't know of any politician who would even consider doing such a thing. They already labeled my father as a "sore loser."

$5Au noticed African-Americans showing ID in his polling place and voting without complaint. Hardly what the liberal media portrays.

I thought only Americans could vote? Who are these *-Americans voting? I know, I know but it bugs me when people identify as *-Americans instead of just Americans

Tis disturbing. I think anyone requiring pre-nationality before American could qualify for a boat trip to where they belong if not American first. Then we can go about eliminating this process on govt applications, documents, etc. Save ink and perhaps paper.

So I noticed the roughly 60% blacks very peacefully doing in my Birmingham area satellite city. Fortunately, the way they voted was offset by the rest of Alabama.
My conservative vote may be useless where I live but I'm not sitting at home the way that apathetic two-thirds of this country did.

Everyone knew it was of no consequence. However, it makes it harder to steal an election with fraud. That may explain why races weren't as close as predicted.

The anti-voter ID crowd would tell you that many of the "disenfranchised" stayed away in states where ID is required. What is purposely ignored in such discussions is that many in the minority community make a practice of not carrying ID, due to fear of being picked up for outstanding warrants, illegal status, carrying phony ID, and other assorted misbehavior. The left fully intends to make use of many illegal voters where voter ID is rendered inoperative. The thing most discouraging is that several instances of voter fraud in non-ID states deprived legal voters of their right to vote, because it was impossible to pull the votes of those who used their identity illegally.

This is so much bull****. We in Wisconsin observed bus loads of people from other states (mostly Illinois) getting off and going into Wisconsin polling stations. No voter ID here (even though it was passed over a year ago, it has continually been fought and blocked by various judges - despite whatever flaws they thought existed, have been remedied). Once the ballot has been cast, you cannot prove who it was cast by, nor is it possible to verify the identity of the individual without actually tracking them back to their residence, or get proof from whatever address they provide that they don't live there (but that's still not proof that they aren't a resident, just that they don't reside there).

The fact that most races weren't as close as the polls indicated, demonstrates that the margin of fraud was overcome by an even wider margin than the outcomes indicate.

By giving voter fraud the attention it deserved during early voting, conservatives managed to curtail it. That's how they won as many races as they did.

In CA beginning 1/2015, the DMV will issue a CA DL to anyone without any verification of residency status. What do you think will be used for voter id if CA goes to voter id elections? Right.

Now investigate those who signed provisional ballots, and did not return with voter ID, for illegal status and voter fraud.

Despite the extensive Democrat fraud machine, the Republicans took back the Senate. BUT...don't for a second believe that will change the tide of big government.

Political parties are out for themselves not the people. The only way to restore freedom and liberty is to eliminate all Political parties.

All I have to do is have multiple residences, multiple registrations and fill out absentee ballots for each of them....or fill out absentee ballots for people who are registered but I know won't vote.
If I had nothing better to do with my time it would be easy to slant an election through fraud.

Actually, that is illegal as well. You must choose a single state of residency for voting purposes. Even if you maintain residences in several states, it is a federal felony (voter fraud) to vote more than once in an election - whether that be in the same state or multiple states.

Of course, if you were a Democrat, you wouldn't get prosecuted by Holder's DoJ...

You can't even vote in local elections where you own property without being a resident. This is being exploited for discriminatory taxes against non-residents, who can't vote against it.

We have to show ID for so many other activities. I don't get how the ID requirement is onerous at all.

I've thought about it, and the only conclusion I can draw is that showing a photo ID to board a plane, or open a bank account, or write a check, etc., don't affect anyone other than the individual trying to perform that action.

But forcing a voter to show ID could result in fewer votes cast (read that: "fewer illegal votes cast").

And fewer illegal votes cast will reduce the number of Democrat votes, thereby reducing their power and control.

"And fewer illegal votes cast will reduce the number of Democrat votes, thereby reducing their power and control. "
Democrats and Republicans act as if they believe this.

I see no reason illegal votes should go to one part or other.

The way the parties behave, though, suggests they think that illegal votes + people on the margins without the wherewithal to bring an ID would be more for Democrats.

The studies have shown that the vast number of illegal votes (80% or better) are for Democrats. It's not hard at all based on those numbers to see which party is for the practice and which one is against it.
