I guess he would rather be the one to do what he says the NRA is doing in the title; or someone else on high, which I'll leave at that. He suggests they play toward fears, but I guess we will all see how well he is able to dodge the natural question to that.

Mr. Simmons is, unfortunately, influential in the Afro-American community, and simultaneously, intellectually vacant. The fact that the NRA's membership doesn't boast many Democrats and few blacks doesn't by definition suggest it's message is anti-Black. More African Americans need to understand the origin of the Bill of Rights and the placement of the 2nd Amendment as significant among its peers. And, of equal importance they must come to understand that the origins of gun control in America are rooted in reactionary politicians attempts to assure that, in particular, Black Americans were denied their 2nd Amendment rights, and as such, their full Constitutional protections. While there exists some controversy regarding certain NRA positions, the NRA remains consistently color blind in its commitment to all Americans being able to equally exercise their Constitutional rights and obligations.
