Vicki is one of Wisconsin's true gems. Yes, this has happened to people merely because they contributed to an organization that has political advocacy. And because the Dem county Attorney's wife is a teacher union rep who was pissed that Gov. Walker was able to get passed legislation that asked the teachers to kick in for their pensions at far below the rate that private employer workers are asked to contribute for their 401K.

The Dem hierarchy is throwing everything they can at Walker to try to defeat him. His opponent is a nobody who has no experience, no track record, and no accomplishments. But, there are nearly 50% of the state that will vote for her merely because she isn't an R. Even though Walker has brought the state back from fiscal collapse.

Even Rand didn't project a scene quite like this. Not, that is, before the collapse. Sounds to me as though Ragnar would have been heavily involved in armed rescue--on land as well as at sea.

Wisconsin is just a mess. Years of bad Democratic and Republican politicians have degraded the quality of life there. I grew up there and it was good but not great. You usually had to leave to find a good job. I, personally, moved to Colorado because of my family situation but still follows things there as I have plenty of relatives there. Governor Walker has restored some resemblance of a economy to the state and the people back there just don't know how to handle it. Just like the rest of the US, the people in the state have become enamored with government handouts, not handups. Wisconsin is mostly small towns that are agricultural based. The other big thing is tourism, especially up north where all the people from Illinois go on vacation to go fishing or boating. Not a lot of industry so when a company comes in or expands a facility, it usually big news. The state is, or at least was, heavily Democratic, so any Republican has that going against them.

It sounds like they're treating it like someone has a gun to a kid's head or something. We treat all kinds of investigations into possible crimes that way. It's disgraceful.
