Artists make art for themselves.

I found this article and was not quite expecting what I found. I actually agree with most of his statements, in which he talks about how art is not for the fan, but for the artist themself. Like Howard Roark didn't build for his clients, built for himself.

I don't know if the author of this article would agree, but many of his statement could be translated to almost anything else in life.

    I could not agree more. The authors philosophy needs to be consistently followed in all areas of life. Not just artistic expression. The funny thing is I always thought that artistic expression is the hardest area to consistently adhere to objectivist thought.
