John Galt return address
I just got an ad for a mail order steak company, and thought it must be a joke of some sort. The address was John Galt Blvd, Omaha NE!
So I looked it up, and yep, Omaha does indeed have a John Galt Blvd. In the process, I found roads in several other places named for JG as well. Maybe there are more of "us" out there than I thought!

Who is John Galt?
PS: I could NOT RESIST... Obviously!
Made me consider putting in another order, but I wasn't overly impressed with the last one.
We'll see what he says...
If you tried to get them to meetup... Would they attend or go on Strike?
"John Galt Boulevard was named in the early 1970s by Ron Abboud, a real estate
developer who once owned land where the street connects 108th Street to Q Street. His
favorite book was Ayn Rand’s Atlas Shrugged. “Who is John Galt?” is the opening line
and Galt is the hero in the Rand classic, which extols economic individualism and self-‐
interest, and foresees the decline of “men of the mind” and the end of civilization.
(Thanks to Omaha World-‐Herald staffer Bob Fishbach and his readers for the revision.)
They have great steaks, by the way. Isn't Omaha known as the "Queen City of the Plains"?
Honestly, what I have learned over the years is that I am perceived as MUCH more intelligent when I let other people decide how smart I am, instead of me telling them.
Kind of like as long as I have my clothes on, I look marginally decent. The minute those come off, uh oh! My thought would be you would be better off to put those "clothes" back on.
But that's just dumb little me. Go on wif yo' bad self.

This (nameless) poster is looking for recognition, and adulation.
My point was, which they probably didn't get, was that one didn't need a degree to be thought intelligent or knowledgeable. These people are mainly black Americans who don't understand the meaning of Nullius in Verba. I think I posted a topic referring to that.
And anyway, I did preface my posts of, as you assume, 'self-adulation' with that very question: can one be considered to have knowledge if one does not have a college degree? In actuality, it was one black president, so-called, who figured I was not as intelligent as himself, yet considered me an advisor, or mentor.
And please, for God's sake, do not go posting insinuations that I am a name dropper. Motive and intent for myself are not the same for you or black Americans.
Second, I actively have avoided over time, without realizing it, reading your posts and/or comments. This is the first one I've actually paid attention to. And now I know why. It's that I actively work hard to NOT respond to silliness.
Hence, I'm gone. Have the day you deserve.
You may, or not, get something out of that post.
I think what the Omaha farmers and ranchers saw in Rand's heroes were their independent and individualistic characters. It matched their own. The philosophy itself? Nah.
Only because these American farmers and ranchers WERE independent and individualistic could they have created a new and free nation.
Anyway, what does perception by others have to do with anything? Are not we Gulchers self-sufficient of ego?
