EXTENT. When I was growing up the newspapers and TV/radio WERE the news. Who didn't watch the Huntley-Brinkley Report? To think that now the average (median) age of those who watch the network news shows is 69! That that since the 2020 election, CNN lost half its audience! Forty percent of those 18-29 get MOST of their news from Tik Tok? Complex questions: Are these sweeping changes indicative of the health of a (semi-) free media marketplace? Are they good for US--for getting our messages across?
