California Looking at Unemployment for Undocumented

Yeah...you can find the news pretty easily on this one. California, with the highest deficit ever by far, now looking to give unemployment benefits to undocumented migrants. Why not? They gave it to prison inmates several years ago...

    How do we pay for something like that? Oh yeah, I remember, there was some loony plan for the government to print a one-squillion-dollar bill and use it to fund the government. Actually, you don't need to print that bill. Instead just pretend it exists. That's sort of like what the Federal Reverse is doing now.

    Was the Fed any better when Alan was nominally in charge?

    The only way to stop the nonsense without a change in administrations is to not pay your taxes. You would need more than half the other people to not pay their taxes in order to have any effect.

      50% seems too high. I remember 30 years ago, the same topic was estimating that if 10% stopped paying, the house of cards would implode and collapse. These days the cards are even more wobbly.

        Perhaps, but I just thought of something outside the box. If we didn't pay taxes, they couldn't use taxes for campaigning and buying or swinging votes. We were never supposed to have taxes in the first place. How did this (these) government(s) get so big anyway?

          What a long sordid history of ignoring the Constitution. I started my understanding of just how long and how thorough the end runs have been pulled off when I started looking at the history of how the federal government usurped the public lands away from newly created States.

          It's that thing about being unburdened by what has been.

    Every Bad Idea doesn't always start in CA.

    But if an Idea DOES start in CA, take the OVER on it being a BAD IDEA.

    Also, take the over on the media COVERING for it. LOL.

    They are bankrupting the system so the newly printed CBDCs can be forced down our throats or we risk starving... (just my take)
