My father was in the Navy. He was on numerous islands in the Pacific during WW2. Once he encountered a young native islander who was singing 'Onward Christian Soldiers'. He stopped the young boy and inquired as to how he learned that song. The youngster replied 'Merican Christian Missionaries". Hah! Those cannibals surely had cleaned up their act.
