At the very best, the trolls (and their skulking friends who don't participate in the feeding frenzy but shrink into the shadows to thumbs-up or thumbs-down their betters [human or no]) are recursive language bots, first-year MIT lab projects for the pimply-faced. At least, my capacity for horror can't envisage a human being as utterly void of dignity.
