Potential nerve repair chemical
Thought I'd throw in a cool science article. Scientists have discovered at least one chemical which may spur the body to repair/regrow damaged nerve tissue. Though testing is still in mice, it looks promising for ailments ranging from strokes to heart attacks.
I did find this in the article that would be concerning I would think. “In particular, 1938 works by activating an enzyme, phosphoinositide 3-kinase (PI3K), which governs cell growth, is involved in various processes like wound healing and can even be hijacked by cancer cells to help them to grow..
We can certainly discuss the science behind any proposed discovery. I saw this as a cool potential discovery with much testing and verification still needed. I didn't see anything proposing that this was ready for public consumption. Should we be skeptical? Sure - and for exactly the reason you point out. But the possibilities are intriguing and worth further monitoring.
