Was it Balph Eubank that said a human's natural state was suffering?

In a preview of the dystopian nightmare that's coming, somebody at CNN is making the case for happiness being overrated.

Bingo! from Pt. I, Chapter VI "The Non-Commercial":
"What is the real essence of life, Mr. Eubank?"
"Suffering," said Balph Eubank. "Defeat and suffering."

But, of course, he's wrong. Quoting Galt, Pt. 3, Chapter VIII, "The Egoist":
"Never think of pain or danger or enemies a moment longer than is necessary to fight them. . . . Don't struggle not to be happy."

But, but, but.... we were told to "eat bugs and be happy..." now they say happiness is overated?? Does that also mean that eating bugs is overated too? Geeze, this leftist wokeness is so confusing, one has to become a complete mindless moron to understand it.

The schools and colleges are training them to be mindless.
When I read the article, I thought of something Winston Churchill said:

"Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery."
