Perhaps local teachers' unions promulgate these policies in the belief that compliant kids won't be rowdy troublemakers in classrooms, making classrooms safer for terrorized teachers--so covid compliance becomes the price students/parents must pay for "education"--problematic insurance that teachers won't be physically attacked on campus by troublemaker-thug "students."

The question then comes up: what of non-compliant kids/parents? Isn't K-12 education supposed to be compulsory? Maybe these irrational policies just afford parents a "get out of jail free" card.
