Every time I see a picture like this, or a video of the President showing up at a business of some kind and the employees seem so enthralled and flattered to be in his presence I wonder why they're hanging around...and smiling (usually). Once, John McCain showed up at my old place of employment, of course he managed to end up on my floor if the building and some people around me said all excited like "He's coming this way!" And I said, "..and that's my queue to leave." and I split for another floor until the coast of clear. This was at a time when I was a staunch Republican. I don't understand the worship-like fawning that happens over public figures. I couldn't get away fast enough.... What IS that all about??
