Due to the nature of my profession I cannot share the entirety of what I received in email this morning. Below are the key points of that email.

Please know MS Edge, which is on every windows computer, is FULL AI at this juncture, meaning any activity that is done on the web, maybe your phone too, is passing under the gaze of Microsofts AI.

Major update from Message center

Collaborative Meeting Notes

MC538385 ·

Teams across Microsoft are coming together to provide tools that help make meetings more effective. More specifically, we’re improving how you track what you want to discuss (Agenda), what you discussed/decided (Notes) and what you need to follow up on (Follow-up Tasks). These capabilities are now integrated into the end-to-end meeting experience in Teams, Loop, Planner, To Do, http://Office.com and OneDrive for Business.

This message is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 101509

When this will happen:

Preview Release: We will begin rolling out late April and expect to complete by mid-May.

Standard Release: We will begin rolling out late May and expect to complete by late June.

How this will affect your organization:

Users within your tenant will see a Notes button during meetings that invokes these new capabilities. The meeting notes will be shown on the right pane of the meeting window with the ability to open them in the browser for more room or on a second monitor. Participants can collaborate in real time, create an agenda, take notes and add tasks. When participants are assigned a task in the meeting, they will also receive an email notification and it will be synced with the Planner and To Do apps.

Meeting organizers will also see an ability to add Collaborative notes before meetings, to prepare by adding agendas or other materials in one place.

Spam filters set a numeric value to every word that goes through the filter. When certain words occur, with more frequency the probability of spam goes up in those emails I said aside. AI will do the same thing only using everything we text everything we type everything we look at everything we say.
I apologize, but this is nothing to laugh at or ignore.

Edge is not on my windows computer.
I never upgraded from 7 and haven't missed anything changed after 7.
In fact, I have switched to Linux entirely for my online activities.
Big Tech does provide some of the internet, and certainly the busiest sites are owned by Big Tech.
I can live without them, too.

Microsoft has made inroads into Linux and supports it as VM platform.

Ubantu is in bed with MS. Ubantu is the foundation for quite a few linux offshoots. Pretty much all cellphone OSs, android (google) or iphone, are written in custom linux, many using google app or code. AI is being implemented across platforms and most applications using google apps free utilities or free code which will google AI will drinkup data index and sell.

So the danger is not from the ubuntu linux pc, it's from other implementations that are based on linux and then modify it for phones and other hardware?

              https://ubuntu.com/blog/tag/microsoft

Wherever MS services are permitted so goes the data collection (and eventual AI judgement).

personally I like Mint as a desktop but its still built from ubantu, which sold its integrity to MS some time ago.

That still doesn't answer the question: is there anything from microsoft included in a linux mint desktop by default, or do the user have to request it, and if that is so, what has microsoft corrupted?
I do not see any online discussion that the desktop OS from Linux has been changed by MSFT except when a user wants to use software written for windows.
                So either
                1) its a top secret, or
                2) the press has censored it, or
                3) it hasn't happened.
Linux is open source and developed by volunteers -many who hate MSFT.
I think that development would stop if infiltration/corruption of the base OS had happened.
If it has happened the discussions about it would be everywhere.
That open source development hasn't stopped.
                I have not seen evidence.

Apologies, I think at present you have to install it yourself, at least in the distro's. Its been a while since I've installed Ubantu but microsoft champions its support in a microsoft virtual environment (meaning its underpinnings have to accept something micosoft simply to take root in as a VM in Hyper-V.
